Power & Rolling Stock

The era of the BLT (Bremen Low Trestle) railroad varies between the early 1900's and 1950's depending upon which engines are running.  One of the first planned purchases was an engine similar to the one I grew up with as a child.  It HAD to be in Union Pacific colors and the Aristo RS-3 was a good choice.  My curves are only a 5' diameter, but it's able to pull all my cars around with no problem.  Then I chose a seasoned LGB engine with a powered tender that was within my budget and should run a long time.  My other engines are a FA-1 from Aristo and a Bachmann ten wheeler.  To make the steam era come alive, I added a Phoenix sound system in a car which will work with any of the steam engines.  I 'd like to do a similar thing for the realistic diesel sound, but only as money allows.

All of my rolling stock (about 25 cars) is Aristo.  I've recently added three streamlined coaches in B&O colors to make the 50's era come alive.  The two Sierra style coaches look good behind the little steam engines.  I keep waiting for "Butch & Sundance" to stage a train robbery any day now.

Just love running trains at dusk.
